Earlier in the year when we began planning our March yoga retreat to the Haadson Resort on Khao Lak, Thailand with Shanghai-based teacher Pablo Alvarez there was only one problem – no yoga shala! However, our friends at Haadson were more than happy to accommodate our retreat and offered to build a customized yoga shala for Leela Travel and other yoga retreats to their property! Truly amazing work! Adele and I spent some time imagining the perfect shala, thinking about available and affordable materials in Thailand and of course conferring with my husband Simon on the proper translation of our measurements into the metric system.
